The cool weather means Chocolique will be back with us this Saturday!

Matt tells me that delicious green beans will be the go at Gina’s Kitchen & Field Berries tomorrow, they are picking them now. Strawberries are going to be limited until mid March. Whole green beans blanched in boiling water, rinsed, then tossed in butter with toasted flaked almonds, yum.

And the cool weather and end of their holidays sees Chocolique back with us. February can be difficult for Kate, too hot often, this slice of winter will welcome her back. As will so many members and customes desperate for their chocolate fix.

Other stallholders tomorrow will be Health by FloraCalico Cakes, Virgara’s Garden, H Kouzina Mas, Jelly.PortElliot including Fleurieu Milk Company products, Healing Harvest Farm, Hey Bagels, VICTORFISH, Studio Goolwa, Con and Harry Fresh FruitBasket Range Baker and Garden candy.

Missing tomorrow Anna’s Homestyle Baking.

Our musician will be Alex de Rosa.

8.00am till 12.30pm.

Thank you so much De, the VHFM Community and everyone else involved.

I’ve often commented in our Newsletters, and it’s one of the most frequently made comments to John and myself by members renewing and joining, Stallholders and people just sitting near the Membership/Information Stand enjoying the music and the atmosphere, that our market has such a friendly, happy feeling to it.

The Stallholders Group is a family, if anyone is sick or has any other kind of problem, everyone is concerned, and wants to know how they are.

I recently had an unexpected week in hospital with appendicitis surgery, and complications, I’m still a bit puzzled how I managed to do the market post on Friday, 20/1, I was being monitored for my second surgery in two days, and I was pretty out to it! At least it made sense, which is more that can be said for some of the messages and texts I sent!

It was really lovely to have a visit from VHFM Chair De Sparks, Calico Cakes, after yesterday’s market, with this gorgeous flower arrangement for me. She also had my favourite Almond Crescents from Anna’s Homestyle Baking, and somehow managed my favourite chocolates from Chocolique. And knowing me so well, a card from All the Gang, with Dogs and Cats, signed by all the Stallholders, and lots of members too.

Thank you so much De, and everyone else involved, the VHFM Community is such a joy to be part of.

Gill Muller, Vice Chair, and Membership and Information.

Barb & Bianca doing well as usual at Unique Cheeses with cheeses to taste!

John tells me he’s signed up four new members this morning already. Membership renewals are ticking over, good vibe at a busy market this morning. Wish I was there!

Barb and Bianca are doing well as usual at Unique Cheeses. I’ll be trying this delicious looking Langres Champagne Washed rind cows milk soft cheese that was sent home for me last week.

Barb is an excellent saleswoman, but having all the cheeses available to taste certainly contributes to the “Unique” in their name.

Funny, humid morning, at least it’s not blazing heat, or blowing hot north winds.

Looking to be a beautiful morning at the market tomorrow. See you there!

Cooler tomorrow for our market, maybe even a drop of rain! I think it will be a wonderful morning for the last market for January 2023, and I can’t believe I just wrote that.

De at Calico Cakes has had these yummy Summer Fruit and Nut Cakes as Cake of the Month, I wonder what February will be? Pretty hard to top these rather stunning creations.

The summer veg are front and centre at Virgara’s Garden. Francesco has so many beautiful salad veg, and he sells out pretty quickly.

Con and Harry Fresh Fruit have a great veggie range too, and of course at the moment their stone fruit is literally mouthwatering

Kate and Olivia at Health by Flora call these ‘Naughty & Nice’ Cookies. I think they are just incredibly delicious! I’m still on the sick list, home from hospital, but not up to coming to the market, these are definitely on my shopping list for John.

Other stallholders tomorrow are Gina’s Kitchen & Field Berries, Jelly.PortElliot, including Fleurieu Milk Company products, Basket Range Baker, VICTORFISH, H Kouzina Mas, Garden candy, Hey Bagels and Unique Cheeses.

Anna’s Homestyle Baking won’t be back until the second Saturday in February, the 12th.

And in a late update, Sarah from Healing Harvest Farm won’t be at tomorrow’s market.

Our musician tomorrow will be Dean Bird.

8.00am till 12.30pm, one month gone already! Crazy!!!!

Brent & Courtney have jars of Organic Bay leaves + heaps more @ Jelly.PortElliot!

I’m missing my delicious Breakfast Pots from Health by Flora this morning. Weetbix in Flinders MC isn’t quite the same!

Brent and Courtney at Jelly; Port Elliot have jars of Organic Bay leaves, soups, curries, casseroles, so many dishes will get a lift from these flavoursome leaves.

Don’t forget to try and buy the wines at George’s Folly Wines, between VICTORFISH and Hey Bagels. They’ll be coming on the third Saturday of every month.

All being well I’ll see you next week.

Enjoy this week’s bumper market, including the music of Jessi Jasmine & Luke Music.

We’ll be introducing our new stallholder, George’s Folly Wines tomorrow at the VHFM.

Looks like being a perfect day at tomorrow’s market, may be a bit windy.

We’ll be introducing our new stallholder, George’s Folly Wines tomorrow. The bulk of their grapes come from their Currency Creek Property, the Grenache has juice from Blewett Springs.

Unfortunately I’ll be missing their debut, a messy acute appendix has me laid up in Flinders Medical Centre. John will be there at the Membership/Information Stall of course.

Our other Stallholders will be Gina’s Kitchen & Field Berries, Health by Flora, Hey Bagels, Anna’s Homestyle Baking, Virgara’s Garden, Calico Cakes, Jelly. PortElliot, including Fleurieu Milk Company products, VICTORFISH, Garden candy, Basket Range Baker, Con and Harry Fresh Fruit, Healing Harvest Farm, Unique Cheeses.

Shawn at Kangaroo Island Living Honey has some great products to tempt us!

Very pleasant at the moment.

Shawn at Kangaroo Island Living Honey has some very interesting products to tempt us, as well as his beautiful raw organic honey from those Ligurian Bees on KI. Squeeze bottles available today. Sticky Figs, if they are anything like his Sticky Fig Salad Dressing they will be sooo good. And now he has Brazilian Coffee Honey Roasted, beans or processed.

Alex will be here soon to sing us through the morning, Morning Buns are back at the Basket Range Baker, Nick is with us there this morning.

The Basket Range Baker will be back, good to see Jess and her beautiful sourdough bread, croissants and Morning Buns again. I’ve missed the Morning Buns.

Get in early, strawberries Gina’s Kitchen & Field Berries + eggs Healing Harvest Farm!

Sorry I’m so late, busy day!

The strawberries are really on the move now at Gina’s Kitchen & Field Berries. They are just luscious.

Sarah at Healing Harvest Farm has been selling out of eggs pretty early. They have a lot of new girls, but they are just a bit too young, very early teens really, to be laying just yet. Sarah said she had been talking to them a lot, tried singing to them. She and I talked about playing them some music, but really, we just have to let them find their own groove, and they’ll start laying when they are ready.

Back with us tomorrow will be De from Calico Cakes, Con and Harry Fresh Fruit, and Anna’s Homestyle Baking (Almond Crescents again, who hoooooo).

We’ll also have Virgara’s Garden, Health by Flora, H Kouzina Mas, Jelly.PortElliot including Fleurieu Milk Company products, VICTORFISH, Hey Bagels, Garden candy and Unique Cheeses.

Our musician will be Brodie Muller.

8.00am till 12.30pm, could be a tad warm.
