Fleurieu Community Foundation – National Homelessness week 1-7 Aug

Yesterday at the market Mark and Leonie Cox representing the Fleurieu Community Foundation were there drawing attention to National Homelessness week, 1-7 August.

The Fleurieu Community Foundation, in collaboration with local agencies, are holding a free homelessness awareness forum on Wednesday 4 August 6.00pm at Chiton Rocks Surf Club.

See the poster or their page for more information. In early April this year the VHFM Committee donated $5,000 to the Foundation in recognition of the amazing work it does in our community.

Thanks to Customers and Stallholders who made it to the market this morning!

A big thank you to the five Stallholders who braved the weather this morning, and an even bigger thank you to our wonderful customers who did the same.

Everyone wore masks, kept moving well, from what the Covid Marshals could see checked in with the QR codes, or came and signed in at the Information Desk.

It was a little hard to recognise some people, with masks, hats, and being so rugged up but that didn’t matter.

And apologies to anyone who may have come late, we did pack up early. That wind was getting very strong, and we felt that you would understand.

Hopefully next week we will be out of lockdown, and the weather will be better! Our QR code is repeated at each stall, has been since they were first introduced, and the written check in using pens that are cleaned after use is always available at the Information Stall.

We have a new stallholder starting on Saturday – GG’s Baked Potatoes and Yiros

We have a new stallholder starting on Saturday. She’s very local, so you may have seen her around.
Sharon, from GG’s Baked Potatoes and Yiros will be serving up all sorts of yummy food, including a Brekkie Bacon and egg Yiros, chicken or lamb.
So we’re going to have some great options for hot food on a cold day.
Really looking forward to Saturday and trying to decide what to have from Sharon’s menu. 😁
