Market rule #1: always ask the person behind the table what they’d choose.
They know what’s tasting its best, what’s just been picked or made, what’s in season and what they’d be taking home themselves. And sometimes, their recommendation might lead you to something you would never have thought to try.
Back for only her second market this Saturday is Silke from BROT. Specialising in gluten-free baking with alternative flours, she’ll be bringing her sourdough bread and baked treats back to the market. If you didn’t get a chance to stop by on her first visit, make sure you introduce yourself — and perhaps ask Silke what she’d choose from the table.
And we have another new face joining the market this Saturday!
We’re excited to welcome Nana’s Banana Bread, with a delicious range of banana breads in different flavours, including gluten-free options. If banana bread is your weakness, this might be one table worth investigating.
Pacific Oyster Co. is also on this week’s roster with their fresh oysters. If you’re an oyster lover, have a chat while you’re there — the people who work with the product are usually the ones with the best tips on how to enjoy it.
We’ll be at Grosvenor Gardens, Victor Harbor this Saturday 22 August from 8:00am to 12:30pm, with plenty to taste, discover and take home.
Making up the rest of Saturday’s spread are the stalls you’ll find with us each week, covering everything from fresh fruit and veg to eggs, chocolate, pantry goods, coffee and more.
Gina’s Kitchen & Field Berries
Healing Harvest Farm Eggs + The Loose Leaf Herbal Tea Co.
Jelly:PortElliot + Fleurieu Milk Company
Riverland Fruit & Veg – Roadside Stall
Seven Flowers: Alchemy & Cacao
You might notice a few gaps between the tables this week — those stallholders won’t be trading this Saturday, but you’ll catch them on a future market day.
Kelly Watson takes care of the live music this week, so there’ll be something to listen to while you decide whose recommendation to take first.
Come with your shopping list — but leave a little room for something the stallholders convince you to try.
