Visit George’s Folly Wines this Saturday & Chocolique early for your chocolate fix!

Could be a warm one later on tomorrow morning. Kate from Chocolique will be there, but may have to leave if it is too warm for her chocolate, so perhaps see her early? I will be.

Jodie will be with us tomorrow, from George’s Folly Wines. The weather could be just right right for some wine tasting and buying.

Kate and Dave from Hey Bagels will be back, the Basket Range Baker will have sourdough apple bread, sounds interesting.

.

We’ll also have Gina’s Kitchen & Field Berries, Calico Cakes, Virgara’s Garden, H Kouzina Mas, Jelly.PortElliot including Fleurieu Milk Company products, Healing Harvest Farm, VICTORFISH and Garden candy.

Remember Health by Flora are having a holiday.

Our musician will be Maggie O’Moore.

8.00am till 12.30pm, see you there.

We have Peter and Sophie, Riverland Fresh Fruit starting this long weekend Sat market!

A long weekend ahead of us, pretty good weather, a market packed with stallholders, what more could you want.

We have Peter and Sophie, Riverland Fresh Fruit starting. They’ll be with us on the second, fourth and fifth Saturday of each month.

Felicity, Basket Range Baker took that fantastic photo at last week’s market. They’ll be back tomorrow, as will Hey Bagels, with theIr brilliant Bagels, and sourdough breads.

As it’s the second Saturday of the month, we’ll have Shawn from Kangaroo Island Living Honey with us. Also Minka, Kimchi Club.

Specialty cakes will be Calico Cakes and Anna’s Homestyle Baking.

Francesco, Virgara’s Garden will have his huge veggie range.

Gina’s Kitchen & Field Berries has veggies, fruit, sweet and savoury baked produce, condiments and cordials.

Jelly.PortElliot including Fleurieu Milk Company products also have veggies, condiments, hot pies, pasties and sausage rolls and the all important coffee.

H Kouzina Mas have their wonderful range of Greek savoury meals, so handy for during the week. Their sweet packs are delicious too.

Healing Harvest Farm eggs are so popular, make sure to get there early.

VICTORFISH always has seafood that is full of flavour.

Health by Flora Kate and Olivia’s range of gut healthy foods and drinks really need to be explored in detail, and they are on holidays for 3 weeks after tomorrow, so stock up!

We are so lucky to have chocolate of the quality of Chocolique at our market. And so reasonably priced. Strong willpower can be needed each week.

Mark has such a great range of herbs, seedlings and succulents at Garden candy. It’s a pity that succulents seem to have gone out of fashion, they are such hardy plants for tucking in to difficult spots in gardens.

Jill and Stewart will be at Studio Goolwa too.

Jessi Jasmine & Luke Music will be our Musicians.

8.00am till 12.30pm, I think you’ll agree it will be a good market.

Some photos from this morning’s presentation to Con and Harry, last market day.

Some photos from this morning’s presentation to Con and Harry.

De had canvassed a few people, and had some anecdotes, then Brent spoke of his memories of the last 14 plus years. John and myself presented Con and Harry with Life Membership Cards of the market (making sure they’ll be back to visit), then De gave them each a beautiful watercolour painting of Petrel Cove, by one of our long time members, Annette Vandenberg. I think more than a few tears may have been shed.

Then at the end of the morning, the last walk around and last wave.

We all do wish them both so well in their retirement, Con and Harry Fresh Fruit.

First week of autumn, hope to see you at the Victor Harbor Farmers Market Sat 8-12.30pm

First week of autumn, but I think summer is still very much with us.

Just cool enough tomorrow to scrape in for Chocolique to be with us, which is excellent.

The Basket Range Baker will be back with us, croissants, yumm.

Unique Cheeses will also be there again, then Barb is having a two week break, so stock up.

We’ll also have Gina’s Kitchen & Field Berries, Health by Flora, Virgara’s Garden, Calico Cakes, Jelly.PortElliot including Fleurieu Milk Company products, H Kouzina Mas, Hey Bagels, VICTORFISH, Studio Goolwa, Healing Harvest Farm, Garden candy and of course, Con and Harry Fresh Fruit on their last day.

Our musician will be Alex de Rosa.

8.00am till 12.30pm, a sad/happy morning, as we bid Con and Harry goodbye, and wish them both long and happy retirements.

Sadly, this Saturday will be Con and Harry’s last day at the VH Farmers Market.

It’s nearly here. This Saturday will be Con and Harry’s last day at our market.

“The Boys” have become an institution at Victor Harbor, having sold their Riverland produce here since 2008.

I know many of you want to say goodbye, we’re going to have a presentation to Con and Harry on Saturday morning between 9.30am and 10.30am, hopefully close to 10.00am. In front of the Rotunda, just a matter of organising everyone. De and Dino are on the case.

It’s going to be a very busy last morning for Con and Harry Fresh Fruit, I’m sure.

Kate and Dave, Hey Bagels will be back with us tomorrow, ready and refreshed!

Kate and Dave, Hey Bagels will be back with us tomorrow, ready and refreshed from their holiday.

So bagels again, whoo hooo.

And their sourdough loaves, 100% rye, 100% spelt and 100% whole wheat.

No Basket Range Baker and Kimchi Club. Circumstances beyond their control.

We will have Anna’s Homestyle Baking, Unique Cheeses, Gina’s Kitchen & Field Berries, Virgara’s Garden, Health by Flora, Jelly PortElliot including Fleurieu Milk Company products, Calico Cakes, H Kouzina Mas, Chocolique, Healing Harvest Farm, VICTORFISH, Garden candy and start saying goodbye to Con and Harry Fresh Fruit.

My goodness it’s a wonderful thing that the cool change will be through in time, and we’re not trying to have a market in 39-40C heat! Stallholders like Kate from Chocolique just wouldn’t be able to come, and we’d all be melting puddles into the brick paving.

Our musician will be Dean Bird.

8.00am till 12.30pm, a great morning.

They were here from the start in 2008! Sat, March 4th will be Con & Harry’s last VH market.

Well it had to happen. They were there in December 2008 when the market first opened. Now, just over 14 years later, they are leaving us for good. Saturday, March the 4th will be Con and Harry’s last market with us.

Just look at those two young fellas from those early days. Time has flown. Harry needs to be a full time carer for his wife. Time to retire.

And boy will we miss them. Not just their fantastic produce, that goes without saying, but those huge smiles, beautiful personalities.

So two more weeks. Then we’ll only have four of our original market stallholders left. But we have built a vibrant market, and when Con and Harry Fresh Fruit do finish on the Fourth of March we’ll shed some tears (probably a lot), and wish them both a long, healthy retirement.

Join us at the market on this beautiful morning & meet Jodie, George’s Folly Wines.

Beautiful morning at the market. This is Jodie, from George’s Folly Wines. Have a chat, even if it’s a tad early for you to taste? I’m sure she has something light that will work well at this time. She’ll be a regular on the third Saturday of the month.

Garry Searle is setting the scene with his music.

Felicity said Cara at Basket Range Baker has a few loaves of a new style they are trying, part croissant loaf. Sounds interesting.

Does Kate at Chocolique have any heart chocolates left from Valentines Day? Kate if you do you could perhaps mention to John I know that one would make me feel better.

Such a beautiful morning.
